51 Jefferson Avenue
This brick structure, built around 1880, was covered in stucco during the early 1970s. Thankfully, much of the original interior — window and door trim, mantels, and the staircase — were left intact. In 2013, The Jefferson Avenue Center’s Director of Properties, Doug Wilkins, and his colleague Dutch Gordon removed the stucco with one-inch putty knives, washed and tuck-pointed the old brick, repaired the historic windows, and rebuilt the solarium.
